lyrics

So after ten years of 8 hour-a-day practice sessions;
The four-octave scales and arpeggios,
The Chopin Etudes,
The occasional Bach Fugue because you had to
Even the god damn Czerny exercises

Followed by a year of self-doubt
Because the world you live in could care less about your Concertos, etudes, and sonatas

Then 9 months of drinking margaritas and smoking weed with Mariachi bands in border towns in Mexico to quell the pain of indifference to your hard work
(but also to feel like you've finally made a connection to something real)

After all of that, you've come to accept your irrelevance because maybe it's better to do something that is good and outdated than bad and hip...
Or maybe the tequila and pot destroyed the right combination of brain cells so that you no longer care.

Or at least know that you care
