about

All of the tracks on this album are unedited improvisations.

They are purposely in a "minimalistic" style, inspired in a sense by Philip Glass. Which, for those who know me well, may seem odd in the sense that I've never been a fan of either minimalism or Glass.

But...

Over the years, I've come to see the particular and peculiar genius in Glass's work, even if it's an aesthetic I can never completely accept. More to the point, on this album, I've been able to take some of Glass's techniques and employ them for my own creative purposes.

I'll add tracks to this album on occasion.

NOTE: This album is connected to an episode of my podcasts, Improvisations on the Ledge, Maximal Minimalism (E2-S4). You can find it here: improvisations-on-the-ledge.simplecast.com/episodes/maximal-minimalism-me-v-philip-glass
