about

This sweet and relatively wistful tune, opened up the B Side of my album Songs from Two States. I say “relatively wistful”, because realistically how wistful can one be at 26, my age when I wrote it. Still, It’s one of my favorite early songs, and in the top 3 for this album. I’m going to do a solo version any day now.

lyrics

I will only say
What I need to say
Buts it’s not
That I don’t really care

And I’ll only do
What I what I want to do
It’s just me
I’m not being unfair

CHORUS:
I don’t lie
Though I say some things
That sound a little strange to you
I don’t lie
Though from day to day
My words can always change

People talk away
My mind tends to stray
How can I
Help it if I offend

Or I walk away
When I’m supposed to stay
Maybe I just don’t know
How to blend

CHORUS:
